A plan for growth at the Port of Pasco

Port of Pasco

In a search for strategic ways to energize business growth along the Columbia River in Pasco, WA, BCRA assisted Port of Pasco in development of a comprehensive master plan for 110 acres of port property. The mix of future development includes light and heavy industrial, commercial office and light retail. A complete brand and way-finding strategy was completed as part of the project, ultimately leading to a recommendation of the Osprey Pointe logo and signage package.

Part of the strategy in the master plan included relocation of the Port’s headquarters onto the property as the first development. BCRA’s building design for the 20,000 square foot office building was designed to maximize views and complement the business acumen of the Port’s history and future operations. The commissioned space accommodates after-hours use and was programmed so the Port can close off private areas from public access, while making the remaining spaces available for use. BCRA used a composite panel rain screen system to provide an outer protective barrier to the building while also incorporating recycled heavy timber from other port warehouses as architectural features in the overall design. Our integrated approach incorporated each of BCRA’s core disciplines to ensure a cohesive design: Architecture + Interior Spaces, Science + Engineering, Planning + Resource Management and Visual Communication + Strategy.

“The Port of Pasco could not have completed such an amazing project without the professional help of BCRA and the team they assembled. Thank you, and very well done.”

- Bill Clark, Port of Pasco Commission Chairman
