Energy Harvest

Identifying Cost Savings Through Mobile Devices

As challenging global economic performance and rising energy costs have driven us all to scrutinize our budgets, areas from business operations to labor force are being examined to maximize efficiency. Just as we know that something as simple as turning off the lights can significantly impact energy savings, we have discovered effective ways to harvest energy in our existing facilities. Energy conservation measures can yield returns that strengthen a weakened budget, and help grow a slow economy. By being better stewards of the resources we have - both environmental and economic - we can apply our knowledge to harvest wasted energy.

Leveraging Mobile Apps

BCRA has developed a mobile application that allows a person to gather information that then can be used to analyze basic information about a buildings energy consumption. A user downloads the mobile application onto their Android tablet, walks through a building answering a series of energy-related questions and uploads the completed questionnaire to BCRA to then review and conduct an assessment. This assessment will determine what area of the building are major consumers and where the most valuable conservation measures can be found. Our Building Science experts can then use this information to prepare preliminary energy consumption report that identifies where a building can find the most energy savings.

Bringing Expert Insight to Building Managers and Owners

BCRA has long been a leader in energy assessments, working with the United States government and the International Energy Association to develop energy assessment strategies and protocols called Energy Conservation Measures (ECM). These ECMs can be applied to disparate facilities as a standard method to reduce energy use. By employing these measures to your facilities, Energy Harvest can provide a comprehensive evaluation that reviews and recommends energy-saving strategies.
