Monday wake-up

In an exercise to get creative and shake things up a bit, our Visual Communication and Strategy studio assigned individuals to capture an image a day through the duration of the week. Once complete, images were exchanged at random for creative development. No directions or guidelines, just design at random and present a finished product. We'll share the design interpretations over a series of posts in the coming weeks.

Design Result: witty ransom note

Kevin Costner was onto something...

Or James Earl Jones. Or was it Kevin Costner's father's ghost? Anyhow - startling evidence shows if bikes get some share on the road, they'll use it. As well as the other bikes that will flock to that space thereafter. As Good point out, the work required to create new roadways to support such a change in road infrastructure  - will also employ more jobs then general resurfacing/road construction alone.

Design build time lapse

Before we jump into the week, let's savor Dwell's upcoming issue. Our Art Director came across a design-build time lapse that was share worthy (and feel-good) worthy . Kudos to TYIN Tegnestue!

It pays to be liked.

The article goes on to indicate traditional American suburbs are near carbon-copies of each other; due to a streamlined process of building materials, architectural styles, corporate standards, and outdoor media presence.

Walmart continues commitment to clean energy

Applause to big-box shops like Walmart for continued commitment to clean energy. By 2013, 130 stores, 75 percent of the company’s locations, will run solar. As inhabitat indicates, this could have a very positive ripple effect in a call to action for corporations to come. Read the full article via inhabitat.com
